Tournament 2008

Yet again Dominoes Netball Club held a successful two day netball tournament in Manchester on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August 2008. This year’s event took place at the new ‘home’ venue of Dominoes Netball Club, Wright Robinson College, Abbey Hey in Manchester.

Apart from a shower on the first morning the weather was kind to the many netballers who’d travelled from afar. On Saturday, teams played 8/9 games in a round robin, and then on Sunday teams went through into the Cup or Plate sections through Quarter and Semi final matches.

34 teams entered the tournament and travelled from across the UK. In the end the games were decided by finals in two sections; the Cup and the Plate. It was local team Trafford ‘A’ who played Hertfordshire’s SAS in the final of the Cup with SAS being the overall tournament winners. In the Plate, Venus met Hi-Lites with Hi-Lites coming out as victors.

Again we’ve had some great feedback from teams and we’ll be looking to hold the Dominoes NC 8th Annual tournament, same time and venue next year so keep checking the website for more details.
