Tournament 2009

Dominoes Netball Club held its biggest Annual tournament yet, with over 64 teams entered to the 8th Annual Dominoes netball tournament (Saturday 1st August 2009). The event took place at our home venue Wright Robinson Sports.

This year the tournament was a one day event, (previous years have been over 2 days), again teams entered from across the whole of the UK from as far as London, Lincolnshire, Carlisle, Glasgow, Wales and Northants to name but a few!!

Teams played 7 games in a round robin, and then went through into the Cup or Plate sections and then on into Quarter and Semi final matches if victorious.
The semi finals of the Plate saw Dominoes B play Rochdale, whilst Barge & Bottle Hurricanes faced Barge & Bottle Tornadoes. The final was between Rochdale & Barge & Bottle hurricanes. The Hurricanes were the victors winning 9 goals to 6. Congratulations to both teams for making the final.

The semi-final of the Cup was between Flava and Chester and SAS v Dominoes A. The Final of the cup was a close match with Dominoes A team the victors over fellow Manchester team Flava beaten 6 goals to 4. Congratulations to both teams for making the final.

Dominoes NC would like to thank all teams for making the event such a great event, and a special thanks to many of the regular teams who continually support our annual tournaments. We’ve had great feedback from teams and will be looking to hold the Dominoes NC 9th Annual tournament, same time and venue next year so keep checking the website for more details.
