The Dominoes 10th Annual Summer Tournament: Saturday 6th August 2011

The 10th Dominoes netball tournament took place on Saturday 6th August 2011, at Wright Robinson Sports College, Abbey Hey, Manchester.

Over 200 ladies took to the courts to play hours of fast paced netball in a bid to see who would be victorious in either the Cup or the Plate competition.

Again, this year the event had nationwide appeal with teams ranging from Ireland to the Isle of Man and from all over Greater Manchester. The Cup Final was a highly competitive match between last year's finalists YWCA Bury and Hull Chevrons. Well done to both teams for reaching the final. It was a very exciting close match with Hull Chevrons reigning victorious in the end.

The final of the Plate competition was between Lincoln City B and Hi-Lites. Lincoln City B gained victory and took the plate trophy.

The tournament is now one of several successful tournaments that Dominoes netball club organises throughout the year. The others are a mixed netball tournament and a back to netball tournament. They all help to raise the ever growing profile of the club that has secured it's second season in the National Premier League.
